The Best Dressed List

"Breaking Bad," "Wolf of Wall Street," "American Hustle" blah blah blah. I can read about who won what at the Golden Globes. For me, it's all about who's wearing what. Step aside Mr. Blackwell, this year, I'm coming out with my own best dressed list.

First up, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. (I want to be them when I grow up.) Hilarious and gorgeous. I particularly loved how their dresses complimented one another.

Let’s hear it for the pregnant ladies! Both Kerry Washington and Olivia Wilde rocked it Sunday night.  (Drew Barrymore, not so much.)

In most shots I saw (live and stills), Washington was holding her belly and beaming. It’s good to be her these days. (In Balenciaga)

Olivia Wilde looked stunningly in her sequin Gucci dress, proving you can be pregnant, covered from head to toe and still look sexy.

Also in green, Helen Mirren looked classy and radiant in Jenny Packham. I love the draping below the bust, it accentuated Mirren’s hour glass shape. (Have you seen this woman in a bikini??)

Maria Menounos’s cut-out hot pink Max Azria Atelier gown was sexy and eye catching.  With a colour and bod like that, she didn’t need any flashy accessories.

Margo Robbie blew all the other white gowns away with this column dress by Gucci. I love the embellishments and the leg slit.  I haven’t seen “Wolf of Wall Street” yet, but Robbie is definitely etched in my memory now.

Reese Witherspoon

Talk about simple and stunning. Reese Witherspoon looked elegant in this teal Calvin Klein Collection gown.  What kind of undergarments is she wearing beneath it (Spanx? How many pairs??) because I’ve gotta get me some.

Kate Beckinsale looked as shiny as a newly minted coin, and I’m not just talking about her Zuhair Murad dress. Did you see her skin? The definition of dewy and glowing.  A good reminder to slather on that sunscreen!

Who says you can’t wear pants to a black tie event? Emma Watson was at her fashion-forward finest in this Dior’s gown. A dress in the front, big slit and pants seen from behind.  Unique and edgy, which I like to see on young starlets.

In a sea of simplicity, Sophia Vergara stood out. I barely noticed the dress, my eyes were on her necklace, her hair and of course, her décolletage.

Naomi Watts knocked it out of the park again for me, in this slinky, shiny Tom Ford sheath dress with artfully placed cutouts on the sides and back.  Talk about statuesque.

My top honours go to Lupita Nyong’o.  She looked so beautiful and happy in this Ralph Lauren dress. I loved the colour, the draping and her radiant smile.  Absolutely stunning.

Did I miss any? A dress here you hated? Let’s talk!
