Chef Recipe: Lucais Syme’s Easy Lemon Dessert

For a labour-intensive Anna & Kristina's Grocery Bag episode testing Mario Batali's Babbo, Vancouver's top chef Lucais Syme decided to share with us one of his simplest and favourite desserts to make at home. Only 3 ingredients - easy peasy!


100 ml lemon juice (add the zest of these lemons to the juice)
700ml cream (highest fat content is best)
150g sugar


Bring cream to boil. Add sugar and simmer 5 minutes.

Turn off heat and add lemon juice. Let sit 5 minutes.

Strain through fine strainer. Pour into shallow bowls and chill at least 1 hour.

      Hi Danelle, it’s kind of a creamy pudding-like dessert. Great by itself as a sweet cool treat, or goes well with things like vanilla cakes, tarts, and other pastries that go well with lemon.
